Sabrina Taylor
A graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Sabrina Taylor currently practices Emergency Medicine in Las Vegas, NV. She is the Assistant Medical Director Vituity and practices medicine at Dignity Health St. Rose Dominican Neighborhood Hospitals. Prior to this, Dr. Taylor was an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University in El Paso, Texas. There she was the Clinical Director of Medical Simulation for the Department of Emergency Medicine. She was awarded the Faculty Member of the Year Award. Sabrina’s research efforts are in the delivery of culturally competent care in the acute-care setting for members of disadvantage and marginalized groups such as the African American and Hispanic patient populations. Her research projects are the use of Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN) Guidelines for infants with traumatic brain injuries, the National Emergency Airway Registry (NEAR) database and culturally competent healthcare delivery to members of the LGBTQ community. Dr. Taylor brings her expertise in medical simulation from several professional organizations to train other healthcare professionals, thereby extending her ability to have an even-greater impact on the progression of medical education, research and patient care in the field of Emergency Medicine.
Presently, Dr. Taylor lives with her husband in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they host regular podcasts to discuss health, wellness, social and political topics. As a youth, Dr. Taylor was a competitive swimmer. Sabrina even qualified for the Junior Olympics. She competed from the age of 8 through college. In fact, she was awarded a full athletic scholarship to attend Florida A and M University, where she was also a pre-medical student. Her events were the 100 and 200 Yard Individual Medley, 100 Yard Butterfly and the Butterfly-Leg of the Medley Relay. She played several instruments as a youth, which include the piano, viola and clarinet. Additional interests aside from spending quality time with family and friends, include gourmet cooking and home gardening. In closing, Dr. Taylor finds great fulfillment in mentoring and inspiring people of all ages to be kind and compassionate. She believes that education, hard work, dedication and a positive outlook on life are the keys to success.
